The Advisor, Empire Connect promotes retention and sales by establishing effective relationships with customers, developing financial plans, providing financial advice and recommending and placing products that meet customer Insurance and Investment needs. The incumbent is guided by defined goals and objectives and works under the general supervision of the Vice President of the business unit.

 

Impact Statement

  • Represent the Empire Life brand to drive sales and ensure retention of existing business in the insurance and investment markets
  • Conduct regular and targeted meetings with Customers to gain an in-depth understanding of their unique financial and insurance needs in order to advise on financial planning and to promote the features and benefits of investment and insurance products 
  • Achieve defined sales and retention targets to maintain and grow Empire Life’s revenue stream

 

Responsibilities include

  • Recommend and place life and health insurance, including investment products that provide financial planning solutions that meet customer needs
  • Initiate contact with existing and prospective customers, using a consultative approach, identify their financial needs and evaluate their existing portfolio of products; conduct regular reviews and adjust their financial plan as needed
  • Onboard customers acquired through acquisition of existing blocks of business and review and augment former advisor records to ensure compliance and business practice standards are met 
  • Ensure communication with and service provided to customers is effective and professional, create a positive customer experience and promotes retention and sales of business  
  • Use digital platforms to place products during meetings with customers
  • Maintain an intimate understanding of Empire Life life and health insurance and investment products for effective consultation with customers
  • Leverage cross-channel sales opportunities by proactively referring business to the appropriate channel
  • Build and maintain a strong knowledge and understanding of current market trends, the competitive landscape and competitor product lines
  • Build and maintain a solid understanding of Empire Life defined sales processes and practices for investments and insurance products
 

                                          

Knowledge / Experience / Certification

  • 5+ years demonstrated experience in a direct customer service, customer relations and sales environment in the insurance/financial services industry
  • Experience as a life licensed advisor a significant asset
  • Life License Qualification Program (LLQP) and life insurance licensed as defined by regulators in applicable Provinces
  • Experience working in a digital environment
  • CLU or ACS designation is an asset
  • CFP designation or working towards
  • Canadian Securities Course & IFIC license an asset
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is required 

 

Education / Professional Courses

  • University degree or a College diploma from a recognized financial services program
