Full Stack Drupal Developer

 

Summary

The Full Stack Drupal Developer manages and implements Drupal websites and online applications; develops, tests, produces and maintains code and content, in support of the company’s strategic initiatives and business operations. The incumbent is guided by defined procedural constraints, and works under the moderate supervision of the Digital Asset Manager in support of all business units, with support from both Enterprise Architecture and the Technical Director, Development

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage all levels of Drupal v.7.0+ websites and application code from development to staging to production,including the core corporate website - empire.ca (D8)

  • Promote improvements for CMS usage and implementation, software development practices, processes and standards with consideration of quality, innovation and productivity

  • Manage back-end administration of all Drupal sites, including core and module updates/patching and hosting administration

  • Support and maintain SEO and online marketing and e-commerce platforms

  • Liaise with key stakeholders to support business objectives and projects by providing value and input at all stages of project lifecycle

  • Liaise with IT Operations to develop and maintain performance and operational monitoring for online Drupal assets

 

Skills / Knowledge / Education

  • Completion of a University degree or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years work experience in a web environment with relevant code and development experience

  • In-depth knowledge of PHP, Drupal, Drupal Commerce, (LAMP), and/or Java and related libraries

  • Advanced knowledge of JavaScript, AJAX, HTML5, CSS required

  • Experience working with Acquia, Pantheon or similar hosting environments

  • Knowledge of, version control (Git and SVN), CI, and automated testing an asset

  • Experience with development methodologies (e.g., Scrum) and project management

  • Knowledge of Google Analytics, Segment and monitoring tools an asset

  • Knowledge of other relevant and/or emerging programming languages/frameworks (Node.js, Symfony) an asset

  • Experience with cloud infrastructures, SaaS, API development and architecture an asset
